Description

Dia de los Muertos Laney College Style! The theme was "Dreams Beyond Borders and Bars", in an effort to bring light to the physical, spiritual, and geographic borders that our communities continue to navigate and resist. Representatives from Bay Area organizations and coalitions that organize around immigrant rights and prisoner rights shared their work and information on how students can get involved. There was dancing, food, music, speeches, a community altar, art installations and more to celebrate!

A special thanks to everyone that came and to those who sponsored the festivities, to name a few; Laney Gallery Management Class, B.A.S.T.A.: Brown Alliance of Students Taking Action, Dance Dept., Mexican/Latin American Studies Dept., Spanish Dept., Cosmetology Dept., Culinary Arts Dept., Counseling Dept., and Hayward Community Gardens.
