This event features a debate on trials of historic and political significance and is entitled "The Trial of the 20th Century". at the Laney College Odell Johnson Performing Art Center Theater.

Moderator James Brosnahan-- Sr. Partner at Morrison Foerster, who is recognized as one of the top trial lawyers in the nation. (He debated "The" trial of the 20th century on NBC in 1999 against Prof. Charles Ogletree of Harvard Univ.)
Panelists: Prominent civil rights attorney John Burris arguing for the O.J. Simpson Trial
Burris was a Bay Area TV commentator for that 1994-95 CA. trial.
Former SNCC General Counsel Howard Moore arguing for the Angela Davis conspiracy trial. Moore was co-counsel for Davis in that 1972 CA trial.
Criminal Defense Lawyer Doron Weinberg, arguing for the 1968 Huey Newton trial Weinberg was named 2011 Crim. Defense Lawyer of the Year. He is a former partner of Fay Stender, who sat second chair in the Newton trial.

Each of the above trials has been named first choice for "The Trial of the 20th Century" by at least one legal expert.
