Description

John Bjerke (Cisco Networking Academy) and Richard Grotegut (Ohlone College) present "Ensuring Student Success with Industry Certifications" for MPICT (Mid-Pacific Information, Communication, and Technology) 2012. Certification is a voluntary process through which an organization grants recognition to an individual and verifies that requirements have been met. Key attributes of quality industry certifications are that they are impartial and fair. They provide an avenue for students to validate skills related to specific jobs or industries, set a foundation for curriculum development, build credibility with employers, communicate quality programs, and add value to the student as a future job seeker.
