Information competency: Join in on this fascinating topic with Patricia Senn =reivik, Dean of the University Library, San Jose State University as she discusses and answers your questions on the topic of Information Competency.

Information Competency is defined as the ability to recognize the need for information, identify, locate, validate and effectively use that information for the issue or problem at hand. This conference will explore the characteristics of an information competent student and various ways to promote information competency throughout the California Community College System. Topics include:

· What is Information Competency?

· What skills are required to be Information Competent?

· What are some models for advancing Information competency across the curriculum?
