CDC and Department of Education Collaborate:

"To Help Schools Prepare for Possible Terrorism"

Each school day about one-quarter of the U.S. population is located in our nation's schools. The U.S. Department of Education, U.S. Department of Health and Human Services/Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Federal Emergency Management Agency, and Federal Bureau of Investigation announce this program to help the nation's schools prepare for possible biological, chemical, or radiological terrorist threats in their vicinities.

Goals

Encourage and enable state and local education, health, emergency management, law enforcement, and homeland defense agencies to jointly assure that schools are prepared to respond to possible biological, chemical, and radiological terrorism.
