Resources the EOC Can provide to a UC
CoMNET examines the implementation of an Emergency Operations Center and the resources that can be provided to the Unified Command. It takes a look at the off-site resources that can be coordinated for incident management while visiting New York City and Philadelphia EOCs todiscuss how the EOC works and what resources the EOC can provide.
Choosing Appropriate PPEs for WMD Responses
CoMNET explores the various WMD scenarios and the process of selecting appropriate personal protective equipment for CBRN situations while visiting the Louisiana State University, Academy of Counter-Terrorist Education and the Department of Energy’s (DOE) Nevada Test Site,NTS), National Exercise, Test and Training Center (NETTC), to discuss the process of selecting the appropriate level of PPE required in various WMD environments.
NLECTC Southeast Center
CoMNET visits the National Law Enforcement and Correction’s Technology Center in Charleston, SC. NLECTC- Southeast focus areas include information technology and technologies for corrections and school safety. NLECTC-Southeast helps law enforcement and corrections agencies acquire and redistribute Federal surplus/excess property. The Center also operates an Incident Mapping and Analysis Program that includes crime mapping training, spatial information management, geographic profiling, and data mining.
US Northern Command
CoMNET visits U.S. Northern Command, which plans, organizes, and executes homeland defense and civil support missions, but has few permanently assigned forces. However, several pre-existing joint task forces have been assigned to U.S. Northern Command. CoMNET visits Joint Force Headquarters - Homeland Security (JFHQ-HLS) and Joint Task Force - Civil support (JTF-CS) in Virginia to get a closer at how these subordinate commands assist US NORTHCOM by providing the ability to execute important missions on a daily basis.
