This broadcast will review the history of antidepressant development and focus on addressing the citation of the benefits and limitations of serotonergic antidepressants, recognizing the role of serotonin and norepinephrine in the emotional and physical symptoms of depression, discussing the relationship between treating painful physical symptoms and achieving remission, ending by summarizing new treatment options for depressive symptoms.

This program reviews co-occurrences including ADHD, anxiety disorders, conduct and behavioral disorders, and substance use. The use of combination therapies and new data related to the efficacy of these treatment options will be discussed as well as identifying evidence based treatment strategies for persons diagnosed with bipolar disorder with CO-morbid conditions.

This conference focuses on history and assessment techniques that will enhance diagnosis and management of health care problems seen among male patients in women's reproductive health settings. This Program will address the ongoing debate about cholesterol goals and how aggressive physicians should be in lowering cholesterol in their patients at risk for cardiovascular disease. The broadcast will also evaluate current management strategies for cholesterol lowering including the use of combination therapy, especially in refractory patients.

9:00 - 10:00am Stabilizing the Patient: A Better Understanding of Dosing in Atypical Antipsychotics
Are labeled dosages too high or too low for any of the anti-psychotics? Is there evidence for improved effectiveness when combinations of anti-psychotics are used as compared to monotherapy? How do different dosages and combinations of anti-psychotics effect side effects and safety profiles? This broadcast will review the evidence and offer clinical wisdom and insights on these important clinical issues.
 
10:00 - 11:00am Driving While Impaired
This broadcast will present an overview of the impaired driving issue, share the latest information about NHTSA initiatives, including the upcoming You Drink & You Drive. You Lose national law enforcement crackdown, provide recent statistics and cite studies on impaired driving, discuss the current laws on the books and new ideas, provide a law enforcement perspective on the problem, and identify what coalitions and community citizens can do to help make our streets safer.
