This session will focus on identifying emerging wireless technologies,
especially those for Wireless Local Area Networks (WLANs),
and the best practices for deploying them on campus. We will
discuss the following new wireless standards: wireless protocols
(IEEE-802.11g, 802.11i, and 802.16); security options, including
WPA (Wi-Fi Protected Access), EAP2 (Extensible Application
Protocol), VPN (Virtual Private Networks), EAP/TLS (EAP/Transport
Layer Security); and authentication options, including Kerberos,
LEAP (Lightweight EAP) with a RADIUS (Remote Authentication
Dial-In User Service), Certificate Servers, and IDS (Intrusion
Detection Systems).
