For the first time in its nineteen year history, a portion of this annual event will be aired via satellite. All of the California Community Colleges will be able to participate LIVE on CCCSAT, Channel 90 and on the web at www.cccsat.org. This year’s event will spotlight “Women as Architects of Change: Lessons on Leadership, Activism and Family”. The Governor and First Lady’s Conference is the largest one day gathering of women in the country and will take place this year in Long Beach, CA.

The morning session highlights include speakers Leslie Sykes, Weekend Co-Anchor, ABC7 Eyewitness News; Katrina Landis, Senior Vice President, BP Products North America; Ann Fudge, CEO, Young & Rubicam Brands; Anne Sweeney, Co-Chairman, Disney Media Networks and President, Disney-ABC Television Group; Katie Cortelyou, Best Buddies Board of Directors; and First Lady Maria Shriver.

Then, join moderator Tom Brokaw as he leads a discussion on “Legendary Architects of Change” with panelists Isabel Allende, Marian Wright Edelman, Billie Jean King, Eunice Shriver and Barbara Walters.

California Community Colleges are invited to attend the morning session free of charge viaCCCSAT. Participating colleges may wish to set up a room for live viewing and invite students, faculty and community members.
