Dr Kayman will present the audience with some of these issues, and begin to address how we define an ethical framework for decision-making and raise questions about ethical principles we might apply, as we try to decide on a moral course of action. |

Drug Use During Pregnancy

This broadcast will discuss the course of psychiatric disorder during pregnancy, an algorithm for weighing risk and benefit of various psychotropics which may be used to treat psychiatrically ill women who are either planning to conceive or who are pregnant, an approach for sharing reproductive safety data regarding psychotropics with patients which highlights the absolute risk of specific outcomes following prenatal exposure to these agents as well as the risk of relapse of underlying psychiatric disorder during pregnancy on the other.
