National Public Radio’s Nancy Pearl will speak to a statewide audience via interactive videoconference. Pearl is the author of two recommended reading guides, “Book Lust” and “More Book Lust”. Viewers will be able to engage in a question-and-answer session with the author following the presentation.

Pearl is a celebrity in the world of public library book clubs, where she is known as “… the country’s most famous librarian… Pearl is cherished by bibliophile strangers who consider her a trusted friend.” The Seattle Post-Intelligencer And, “one of those pop-culture phenomena that just keeps getting bigger and hotter” [Seattle Times]. According to her publisher Sasquatch Book, “Nancy Pearl has become a rock star among readers and the tastemaker people turn to when deciding what to read next.”

About the Author

The former Executive Director of the Washington Center for the Book, Pearl celebrates the written word by speaking at bookstores and libraries across the country and on her monthly television program Book Lust with Nancy Pearl on the Seattle Channel.

In 2004, Pearl became the 50 th winner of the Women’s National Book Association Award for her extraordinary contribution to the world of books. In the moments when Pearl finds herself without a book, she is an avid bicyclist and happy grandmother of two. She lives in Seattle with her husband Joe.
