Dr. Kathy Grove and Dillon Emerick
Topic:  What’s In It For Me? Charity, Activism, and Social Justice

Dillon Emerick is Assistant Professor of Philosophy at Palomar College. He is presently finishing his Ph.D. dissertation at the University of California, Riverside.  His main interests are Critical Theory, Applied Ethics, and Critical Thinking. Dr. Kathy Grove is Assistant Professor of Sociology at Palomar College.  She has her Ph.D. in Sociology and is the author of a book “Building Bridges” as well as several articles on women and HIV/AIDS. She has been nominated for the Distinguished Research Award and the Distinguished Faculty Award for Excellence in Teaching at Palomar.

Dr. Arthur Petersen
Topic: Political Party Platforms: Do They Matter?

Dr. Arthur Petersen is a former professor of Political Science. He holds a Ph D in Political Science from the University of Minnesota.  He taught at several universities and has 16 publications.   He was recently a delegate at the Republican Convention in St Paul. He is also President of the Thomas W. Warthen Aviation Academy.

Christine Moore
Topic: Women & Progressive Era Health Care Reform,

Christine Moore is Adjunct Professor of History at Palomar College and Lecturer in History at California State University, San Marcos. She has her Masters Degree in History from San Diego State. She is currently Regional President of the American Association of Women in Community Colleges.

Jacob LaRiviere

Jacob LaRiviere is an Economics Ph D candidate at UCSD.  He is also a Lecturer at UCSD and at CSU – San Marcos.  He has presented his research at conferences in Sweden, Denmark, and in California.

Dr. Yoram Bauman
Topic:  Comedy, Economics, and Climate Change

Dr. Yoram Bauman is the world’s first and only stand-up economist! His economics jokes have received over 450,000 hits on YouTube. He received his Ph D in Economics from the University of Washington.  He is an Environmental Economist and has produced studies of the impacts of climate change and also has an online Economics textbook.
