Ohlone College's Silicon Valley StRUT public private partnership program emphasizes education and curriculum to complement electronic recycling. SVStRUT provides:

-Computer technology education program;
-Technology resources for schools and;
-Materials e-waste program.

Over the last four years, SVStRUT has placed over 1500 free computers, printers and networking devices in area schools.

Silicon Valley Students Recycling Used Technology (SVStRUT) is a program sponsored by Ohlone College's Cisco Network Academy. StRUT is incorporated into local member Academy schools where students take donated computers and networking equipment and upgrade them for continued use. Students involved in StRUT evaluate, repair, and refurbish the equipment and in turn donate to local schools. Students gain valuable skills and schools get free equipment.
