This session discusses the impact of the CyberWatch and Center for Systems Security Information Assurance NSF ATE Centers on the nation's community colleges over the past 10 years. It will present an overview of the centers, their accomplishments, the overarching significance of their contributions and their anticipated future impact.

The purpose of this session is to present and disseminate the findings of a white paper, funded by the National Security Agency (NSA) through the National Science Foundation (NSF) for the CAE2Y program. This session will focus on the impact of two NSF Advanced Technological Education (ATE) Centers, CyberWatch (CW) and the Center for Systems Security Information Assurance (CSSIA), on the nation's community colleges, spanning a 10-year period (2002-2012).

The session will focus on the following topics:
 Overview of National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Centers
 Accomplishments of the Centers in improving the cybersecurity workforce
 Overarching significance and contributions of the Centers to community colleges and their workforce development efforts with respect to the cyber security sector
Anticipated Future Impact of the Centers in improving the cyber security workforce

Major Objectives:
Understand the role of National Science Foundation Advanced Technological Centers in
supporting the improvement of the cyber security workforce.
Understand the accomplishments of the Centers and the overarching significance of those contributions
Understand how to utilize the future activities and contributions of CW and CSSIA to
improve the community college systems and cyber security workforce across the nation
